The Houston Astros have two games left in their season-opening homestand, but their first road swing of the year will be put on pause for one additional day.
Houston was initially set to face Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins on Thursday in its opponent's 2023 home opener. That will no longer be the case, with the Astros announcing Tuesday afternoon that this game has been postponed to Friday as a result of the upcoming weather forecast for the Minneapolis area. houston you have a problem phillies shirt
Storms are currently moving through southeastern Minnesota, and they're expected to continue into at least Wednesday. According to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service, "a major storm system is likely to impact the Upper Midwest through Wednesday night, bringing mainly snow showers with continued strong winds." Possible snow is in the forecast throughout the day on Wednesday, with a 40 percent chance of precipitation and temperatures dropping to around 30 degrees by the evening. Things are projected to clear up on Thursday, though the temperature is not expected to rise above 40 degrees with the possibility of wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
