The Sweet Family Story Behind Sisley’s New Summer Fragrance

Not only has Sisley’s Les Eaux Rêvées collection had a bottle redesign care of famed Polish sculptor Bronisław Krzysztof, there’s also a new member joining the Sisley fragrance family. L’Eau Rêvée d’Hubert, the latest scent to join the signature collection, has been created in honour of the brand’s co-founder, Hubert d’Ornano.

The fragrance is extra special, as the geranium note in the blend is inspired by a climbing geranium in the garden at the family home of Isabelle d’Ornano, Hubert’s wife and co-founder. The garden in question is situated near the Loire valley in France, and has influenced not only this scent, but others in the collection, too.

“Everyone always passes this climbing geranium in the garden and touches the leaves and takes in their smell,” Christine d’Ornano, Hubert and Isabelle’s daughter and global vice president of Sisley, explains of the sentimental new addition. “We kept saying we had to do a scent around the smell of the plant’s leaves, and the fragrance idea came from there. My mother spoke to five different noses to interpret this smell before choosing one, because this geranium is very peppery and it’s very original.” Sweet Strawberry Cotton Tote Bag

According to d’Ornano, the creation of a new Sisley scent is always a labour of love. “We wear our fragrance creations for a while and play around – my mother wore Eau du Soir for eight years before it launched – and with L’Eau Rêvée d’Hubert it was unanimous, everyone loved it, and we named it after my father because he loved being the countryside.”
