The Tennessee Vols' goal for the last 15 years has seemingly been to "make progress" each season.
That goal has changed under Josh Heupel.
Instead of simply hoping to make progress each season, the goal each season now is to win a national championship.
And that's the main reason why defensive back Gabe Jeudy-Lally transferred from BYU to Tennessee this offseason.
Jeudy-Lally told reporters on Wednesday that he didn't come to Tennessee to prove something -- he came to help the program win its first national championship since the 1998 season.
“What my expectation of myself is is to be able to teach the guys, because I don’t have a lot of time left, so teach the guys so Tennessee can be good for years on out," said Jeudy-Lally. "And to be able to come in here and help us achieve that goal, right? We were a couple of steps away from a national championship last year, and hopefully we can build on that momentum and go to the national championship this year. It starts with the defense playing better at the end of the day and the offense just keep doing the thing that they’re doing.” tennessee vols gifts
