Phoebe Bridgers has spoken out about the "dehumanising abuse" she received from fans after photos emerged of her at the airport with comedian and actor Bo Burnham.
In the images, Bridgers and Burnham were seen at LAX en route to her father's funeral. They were also taken at a time when rumours that Bridgers and ex-fiance Paul mescal—aka the internet's favourite couple—had broken up.
In a new interview with Them, Bridgers recalled the influx of comments she received from fans in response to the photos, saying, "I'm coming from a place of literally — I'm feeling it in my body as I'm saying it, but — people with my picture as their Twitter picture, who claim to like my music, fucking bullied me at the airport on the way to my father's funeral this year."
She continued: "I, at one of the lowest points of my life, saw people who claim to love me fucking dehumanise me and shame me and fucking bully me on the way to my dad's wake." bo burnham shirt
