Joshua Hurst Memorial Scholarship cookout fundraiser scheduled for June 10

The third annual Joshua Hurst Memorial Scholarship cookout is scheduled for Saturday, June 10 at the Ludlow Fish and Game Club between 5 and 10 p.m..

Tickets are $50 and will include dinner, dessert, soda, entry for a prize and a donation to the scholarship fund. There will be a cash bar, raffles, DJ and yard games to play.

The fund is named after former Ludlow High School boys basketball standout Josh Hurst, who died in a car accident on November 30, 2020. It was created by Hurst’s stepmother Denise Anghilante-Hurst and father Jeff as a way to keep his name alive in the Ludlow community and to give back to the school.

A golf scramble benefitting the scholarship fund at Westover Golf Course in Granby will also be on June 10. Tickets are $125 each and $500 per foursome. The afternoon sessions will include a light lunch and donation to the scholarship fund. Entry will also include admission to the cookout. Shotgun starts are at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m.. cookout shirt
